It’s simply not enough to have a Facebook, Instagram and Twitter page these days. Facebook especially, does not exactly make it easy for customers to see a business’s post especially if it’s a post directly pushing a product. Facebook wants to see interactions, engagements and active audiences. If audiences are not responsive to posts then Facebook’s algorithm shows your posts to less and less of your audiences. Why? Well, Facebook News Feed algorithm is programmed to prioritize content from “friends, family and groups”. Mark Zuckerburg said, “we want time people spend on Facebook to encourage meaningful social interactions”. The 2018 algorithm update prioritizes active interactions like commenting and sharing over likes and click-through.

Here are 5 methods you can use to enhance engagements;

  1. Create a posting schedule. Think carefully about posts that your customers might be willing to share. Consider video and remember to use the VRIN method.
  2. Develop a theme. Think about colours schemes, language, images and video styles will you use. How do you want to be perceived? 
  3. Invest! You gotta spend money to make money. Boost a post to get more engagements or followers. Do this through the business manager. Do not boost through the “boost” button. Remember to choose your audience wisely. Once you get new likes, ask them to follow your page.
  4. Interact with your audience. Remember, likes and comments are warm leads. It’s up to you to convert. If a customer asks a question or sends a private message, make sure you are answering questions otherwise, your lead will go stale.
  5. Use “Follow first” tactics. Remind your new followers to select “See First” This way they won’t miss a trick/post and it will keep them engaged.
